Appointment of Ms. Maria Lorena Cosme as FANA’s Director of Indigenous Affairs and Cultural Outreach to the United Nations

July 23, 2024

(For expedience’s sake, The Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas will be shortened to FANA.  The SandHill Band of Lenape and Cherokee Indians (NY, NJ, PA) will be shortened to SandHill.)

I am pleased to write about another FANA member’s appointment as the Organization continues to expand in the global arena.

SandHill Tribal member, Ms. Maria Lorena Cosme, has been appointed FANA’s Director of Indigenous Affairs and Cultural Outreach to the United Nations. She and her staff will be working with FANA’s Minister of International Affairs, Principal Chief Dr. Ronald Yonaguska Holloway.

They will be intermittently reaching out and working with other United Nations Organizations and Tribal Nations as FANA continues to increase its global presence as it assists other indigenous Nations around the world.

I have known Ms. Cosme for over a decade and am honored to call her a friend. She will be a great asset to FANA as it continues to grow on the global stage.
