FANA appoints Mr. Shariful Consul-General to Bangladesh.

March 25, 2026

Over the years, The Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas (FANA) has welcomed people from different countries who the Federation appoints as Ambassadors and Consuls-General, bringing to FANA a host of talents, experiences, and abilities.

I am honored to announce that FANA has appointed Mr. Shariful Islam as its Consul-General to Bangladesh. He will be working with and assisting FANA’s India Ambassador Seevan. Together, they will reach out to Indigenous Organizations in Bangladesh and its territories.

Consul-General Islam brings a host of experience and knowledge in banking and finance, community services, and international trading. He also has extensive knowledge of the creation and establishment of non-profits. He has established the non-profit Community Service Organization, “Fight for Bangladesh”.

The above-mentioned Organization has also been established in Toronto, Canada. Between the two locations, Fight for Bangladesh has made a major impact in Bangladesh and its territories by organizing events, establishing cleaning projects, and hosting clothing and funding drives. The Organization has been credited with inspiring hope and a sense of community.

I will do a direct quote from Consul-General Islam’s resume. Fight for Bangladesh has “organized and established 4 major country events runs annually (cleaning, painting, cemeteries/statues, International Mother’s Language cleaning monument.”

He also founded the Danforth Community Center in Toronto, Canada. It has had a very significant impact as a result of organizing a food drive that has fed 10,000 people each year over the past 4 years.

.

The Danforth Community Center has established a non-profit organization that serves the people of Bangladesh, Africa, Southeast India, Pakistan, and the Caribbean living in Toronto, Canada.

Consul-General Islam will pursue his objectives, which begin with reaching out to the leadership of the Bangladeshi territories. He is being directed to introduce the new leadership of the secular government to FANA and our endeavors and accomplishments.

He and Ambassador Seeven will report directly to FANA’s Minister of International Affairs, Principal Chief Dr. Ronald Yonaguska Holloway.
