Federation Of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas Appoints SandHill members to the Nimmuog
March 15, 2025
On March 15, 2025, The Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas (FANA) appointed three members of the SandHill Band of Lenape and Cherokee Indians (SandHill) to the Nimmuog of FANA.
The Nimmuog is similar to what we know as the United States Congress/House of Representatives. It is the legislative branch of FANA and its purpose is to” promulgate, review, and assess all laws” pertaining to the Federation.
Every FANA member Tribe/Nation is granted seats in the Nimmuog. Similar to the USA’s House of Representatives, how many seats are granted is dependent upon the size of the member Tribe/Nation and/or the length of time the Tribe/Nation has been a FANA member.
The SandHill appointments are:
Elected as First Seat Holder and Speaker of the Nimmuog: FANA’s Ambassador to the United States Mid-West, Adjunct Prof. Kevin Voices of Many Waters Inglesby.
Elected as Deputy First Chair to the Nimmuog: FANA’s Director of Indigenous Affairs and Cultural Outreach to the United Nations, Ms. Maria Snowing White Owl Lorena Cosme.
Elected as the Nimmuog Sargent of Arms: FANA’s Ambassador (Territories East of the Mississippi) Red Chief Lance Red Hawk Cook Shauger.
